WineManager

Batches screen

Displays a table of all the batches previously input.

Settings button (top left) - takes you to the settings options.  Saved on exit from the app.  See settings details below.

+ button (top right) - takes you to the batch picker screen to create a new batch.  See batch picker details below.

Press relevant row of the table  - takes you to fuller details of the batch row chosen on the actions page.  If more than one action is entered the batch page shows the top action that was the last one created by you.

To delete a row - swipe the row from side to side.  Press the delete button generated.

ABV - the abv calculator estimates the alcohol by volume percentage based upon the o.g. readings that you input.  The figure is only an estimate and only as good as the o.g. data input.

All data input is saved whenever the app is exited.

Settings screen

Calendar - pressing the button generates a picker list of your current calendars.  Choose which one you want to save any notes and reminders to.  It may be necessary to enter iCal to create a specific calendar such as "Wine" if you want all wine related reminders in its own calendar.  You will only need to do this once.

Text colour - choose from the picker list to choose a text colour to suit your own personal tastes.

Background colour - choose from the picker list to choose a background colour to suit your own personal tastes.

Colours can be changed as often as you like to suit your own taste and mood.  Probably best not to set the text and background to the same colour though!

OG Switch - the default is to show the o.g . readings on the batch and actions screen, but setting to off will hide them if you wish.

ABV Switch - the default is to show the a.b.v. readings on the batch screen, but setting to off will hide them if you wish.

Batch Picker screen

Choose from the picker a name for your batch.  We have generated a comprehrensive list of popular favourites, but we were never going to be able to cover all possible options.  Hence if you do not see what you want choose "Customise" and use the alert box to enter your own name.  If you have several types of the same wine on the go at once use the ssecond column to set a number too.  If the number is not required just leave it blank.

Tap the background or "Batches" button in the TOP LEFT corner of the screeen (not the Batches tab bar at the bottom) when finished to hide the picker and insert the new row at the top of the batches table.

Actions screen

Batches button (top left) - takes you back to the batches screen detailed above.

+ button (top right) - takes you to the actions picker screen to create a new action row in the table.  See actions picker details below.

Press relevant row of the table  - takes you to fuller details of the action row chosen on the actions page.  See additional info screen details below.

To delete a row - swipe the row from side to side.  Press the delete button generated.

Action Picker screen

Choose from the picker a name for your action.  We have generated a comprehrensive list, but we were never going to be able to cover all possible options or personal wording.  Hence if you do not see what you want choose "Customise" and use the alert box to enter your own name.

Tap the background or "Actions" when finished to hide the picker and insert the new row at the top of the actions table.

Additional info screen

Additional notes - tap on the text view box to bring up the keyboard and enter whatever personal notes you wish.  Tap the background when finished to hide the keyboard.

"Set date" button - use the date picker to set or revise the date you have done (or plan to do) the relevant action.  Tap the background when finished to hide the picker.

"Set o.g." button - use the picker to set the o.g. measurement for this action.  Tap the background when finished to hide the picker.

"Save to iCal" button - if you press this button a new event will be added to the calendar shown.  If you have set the calendar on the Settings screen this will be the calendar used, otherwise your default calendar will be used.  The event will be set up for the date shown with a record of the o.g. and notes within the iCal notes section.  A message confirms input of the event to your calendar.  Be warned that pressing the button repeatedly will lead to repeat entries in your calendar.

Here you have the option over how you use the app.  Either input actions as you do them purely for record purposes.  Alternatively, use the app the keep ahead by setting the next action in the future.  In this way the future date in your calendar will act as a reminder for you to actually do what is required.

Use the actions button top left to return to the actions table for the relevant batch.
